Michael Edmondson, Ph.D. Associate Provost for Continued Learning
Dr. Michael Edmondson, Associate Provost for Continued Learning at NJIT, brings over 30 years of cross-functional leadership spanning operations, management, stakeholder outreach, communications, strategic planning, marketing, and administration across higher education, workforce development, K–12 education, nonprofit organizations, and for-profit consulting.
He holds a B.A. in History from Cabrini College, an M.A. in History from Villanova University, and a Ph.D. in History from Temple University.
Under his leadership, the NJIT Learning & Development Initiative (LDI) serves as one of eight pivotal spokes within the NJIT Innovation Nexus. The LDI is the non-credit division of NJIT connecting people to the skills and knowledge they need to succeed by offering a vibrant portfolio of non-credit courses, microcredentials, custom training, workforce development programs, and professional development events.
Recognition & Professional Development Highlights
Recipient of the 2022 Distinguished Leadership Award from the Monmouth Regional Chamber of Commerce for exceptional community service.
Completed the 2021 AGB Institute for Leadership & Governance in Higher Education and the 2014 Council of Independent Colleges Senior Leadership Academy, leadership programs for aspiring senior academic administrators.
His next book, Remaining Human: Navigating Work, Change, and Identity in the Age of AI is due out in 2026

Dr. Edmondson speaks frequently at local, state, and national conferences and events on a wide variety of topics including the future of work in the age of artificial intelligence, education in the age of AI, and organizational effectiveness.
