LDI Partners with Hire Heroes
The Learning and Development Initiative (LDI), is a collaboration between the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and the New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII) that provides skills-based learning through non-degree credentials, custom training, and workforce development programs. Today, the LDI announced its acceptance as a training partner of Hire Heroes USA, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to empowering U.S. military veterans and their spouses to succeed in the civilian workforce.
In addition to being a training partner, the LDI will also host a free workshop series focused on five of the essential skills required for veterans, service members, and military spouses to develop both personally and professionally as they transition back into civilian life:
1)Enhance Your Decision Making by Relying on Positive Uncertainty
2)Develop Grit Over the Long-Term by Improving Your Habits
3)Practice Self-Care by Letting Go and Forgiving Yourself and Others
4)Leverage the Two Dimensions of Time
5)Acknowledge Your Perception to Appreciate Perspective
Through this partnership, the LDI will join Hire Heroes USA’s Training Partners program by providing valuable training opportunities to the organization’s extensive network of job seekers interested in enhancing their self-awareness in order to develop critical soft skills relevant to a wide spectrum of careers, industries, and job titles.
"Partnering with the Learning and Development Initiative amplifies our ability to serve our veterans and military spouses by providing them with access to unparalleled skills training,” said Ross Dickman, CEO at Hire Heroes USA. “This alliance not only supports their professional development but also reinforces our dedication to preparing them for meaningful employment in the civilian sector."
"Forming partnerships with prestigious organizations such as Hire Heroes USA naturally aligns with LDI’s mission of 'serving motivated professionals, inspired individuals, and ambitious organizations dedicated to investing in the time, resources, and effort required to succeed in a world marked by constant disruption," said Michael Edmondson, Ph.D., Vice President of LDI at NJII. "We are proud to offer U.S. veterans and their spouses the training and resources they need to help navigate their development both professionally and personally."
The partnership between Hire Heroes USA and the LDI at NJII is a powerful example of how collaboration between organizations can create a meaningful impact for veterans and military spouses. By providing access to high-quality training and personalized support, this partnership will equip individuals with the skills and confidence they need to build fulfilling careers and achieve long-term professional success.
