Mission
Continued Learning extends the mission of NJIT by partnering with the New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII) and offering expansive learning and development opportunities through professional, continuing, and online education.
Functional Areas
The following offices represent the various functional areas within NJIT Continued Learning:
- Academic Programming and Operations
- Courses and programs created by NJIT's award winning faculty. Examples include online graduate certificates.
- If you are an NJIT faculty member and would like more information on creating a Continued Learning course or program, please contact Dr. Michael Edmondson, Associate Provost, Continued Learning.
- Community Outreach and Education
- Learning and development opportunities specifically designed for the local Newark and surrounding communities. Examples include:
- A free community based educational opportunity for local non-profit organizations entitled The Lighthouse Program.
- A wide range of Pre-College programs for students, educators and families to nurture STEM learning for grades 4 -12.

- Customized Training and Development
- In partnership with the New Jersey Innovation Institute, NJIT offers customized training programs for organizations looking to enhance the skills of their employees.
- Professional Education
- Professional education includes courses and programs offered by any number of partnerships. Examples include:
- Workforce Development
- To better prepare the future workforce of Newark and the surrounding communities, NJIT's Continued Learning also engages in workforce development projects.
